Bundle Up! Wind Chill Will Drop Temperature to 20 Below Tonight

The wind chill advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday to 11 a.m. Friday.

Plan to stay inside Thursday night. According to the National Weather Service, arctic winds will sweep through the area, causing single-digit temperatures shortly after sunset. Temperatures will continue to fall Thursday evening to near or below zero. Winds of 15 to 25 mph will bring a wind chill of 20 to 29 degrees below zero. This wind chill can cause frostbite to the skin within 30 minutes. Anyone outside for an extended period of time is also in danger of hypothermia. The National Weather Service advises anyone going outside to wear a hat and gloves and to make sure all pets are brought inside to save them from frostbite and hypothermia, as well. A wind chill advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday night to 11 a.m. Friday …
