The stunning last second three-point shot by a St. Catherine's player in a game against Queen of Martyrs was captured on video.
It was like a scene out of a movie as Pat Hanrahan of St. Catherine in Oak Lawn was able to nail a last second shot to clinch a playoff win. Playing against Queen of Martyrs and trailing by one point, Mitch Panella was able to steal the ball with just five seconds left in the game. He passed it to Hanrahan at half court who made the shot as the time expired. The crowd goes expectedly wild.

Queen of Martyrs will be hosting their annual fest this weekend and we rounded up the most important details. Where: Queen of Martyrs, 10233 S. Central Park Avenue Friday, Sept. 21 - 5 p.m. to midnight, rides end at 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 - Noon to midnight, rides end at 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 - 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday Saturday Sunday Raffle tickets are available for $50 at the church rectory. Only 1,000 will be sold and the grand prize is $10,000. A total of nine cash prizes will be given. Pull-tabs and split the pot will also be available at the fest. Bingo takes place on Sunday from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday - Children's games in St. Joe's Room from Noon-4 p.m. Sunday - Outdoor Mass at 11:30 a.m., weather permitting $20 unlimited…

Even though auditions are over, the Queen of Martyrs Altar & Rosary Society said it looks forward to the upcoming American Girl Fashion Show in November, which will raise funds for the school to purchase textbooks.

These are names of American Girl dolls who were named after historical characters. American Girl is partnering with nonprofit organizations to present fashion show events to raise funds for children's charities. One of those charities is the Evergreen Park-based Queen of Martyrs Church Altar and Rosary Society, which is raising funds to purchase textbooks.
