Retail Theft Round-Up: Police Blotter

Evergreen Park police reports, Feb. 12-13.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13 Lester Wilkerson, 60, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft. He took batteries valued at $65.82 from Walmart, police said. He had a previous conviction for theft that increased the offense to a felony, police said. Willie A. Hughes, 45, of Chicago was charged with retail theft after taking seven sticks of deodorant from Pete's Fresh Market.   TUESDAY, FEB. 12 Michael Mitchell, 25, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. He was captured on video at Walmart taking five items valued at $55.30 and then returning those same items for a refund, police said.  Victor B. Heroin and Retail Theft: Police Blotter

Evergreen Park police reports, Dec. 8 - 12.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12 Johnice Davis, 28, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft. She took two DVDs, Ted and the Bourne Legacy, from Walmart without paying, police said.  TUESDAY, DEC. 11 Consuella Sims, 36, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft. She took 10 DVDs and household items totalling $274.46 from Walmart without paying, police said.  SATURDAY, DEC. 8 Nathan Burgess, 24, of Chicago, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without insurance. He was stopped in the 10300 block of Kedzie for not wearing a seat belt and was found to have .5 grams of heroin, police said. THURSDAY, JULY 19 After police saw a man make a traffic violation, they later found out he was driving on a revoked license, reports said. According to police, Melchor Rodriguez, 39, of Chicago was charged with felony driving while license revoked. Police said Rodriguez’s license was previously revoked for a charge of driving under the influence. According to reports, at about 4:16 p.m., police saw Rodriguez speeding in a Ford Explorer with an illegal front plate cover. He drove in between lines just before police stopped him, reports said. According to police, Rodriguez admitted to having no insurance and had three prior convictions for driving under the influence. Police charged Rodriguez with felony driving while license revoked, …

SATURDAY, JULY 21 Alexander A. Jones, 29, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft. Police said he took 13 items from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St., valued at $697.75. According to reports, store security saw Jones enter the store with no merchandise then load various items into a shopping cart. Police said at about 7:57 p.m., Jones went to the service desk and said that he wanted to exchange one of the electronics items in his possession. Once the credit was issued for one of the items, Jones left the store without paying for the remaining items in his cart, police said. Store security stopped Jones upon exiting.   WEDNESDAY, JULY 25 Police arrested Fidel Caballero, 57, of Chicago and charged him with driving while license is revoked. Police saw Caballero driving a 1989 Toyota at about 8:26 a.m. with an expired registration plate at 95th Street and Western Avenue.  According to reports, the officer noticed a phony registration sticker on the license plate, and that Caballero’s license was revoked. Caballero was charged with felony revoked license, fictitious registration sticker, expired registration and no insurance. Police: Man Caught Stealing from Cars

Evergreen Park Police reports: March 8-22.

THURSDAY, MARCH 22 Zachary Bullington, 18, of Evergreen Park was arrested on felony identity theft charges a year after the incident, according to reports. Police say they didn't have the evidence until this year that Bullington used someone's debit card to buy an iPod for $168.49 in 2011. Jackie R. Jackson, 19, of Chicago took eight video games and one pair of shorts from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. at about 10:36 a.m., according to police reports. He was arrested on charges of retail theft. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21 Police say Eyeisha D. Police: Cops Spot Car Parked on Sidewalk

Evergreen Park Police saw a car parked on the sidewalk and accused the motorist of driving drunk.

Police on 87th Street saw a car parked on the sidewalk in front of J.J. Sausage Maxwell Street on Jan. 23, according to reports. Evergreen Park Police said one of the car’s wheels was off and underneath the car. According to reports, police arrested Louis Christopher, 32, of Evergreen Park, the driver of the vehicle. At about 2:18 a.m., the car was apparently traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of 87th Street before hitting the curb in front of 2647 W. 87t St., and came to a rest in front of 2649 W. 87th St., police said. THURSDAY, JAN. 26 Around 3 a.m., police saw a car swerve around 95th Street and Western Avenue. According to reports, police arrested Dejaune T. Jones, 36, of Chicago, and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol. Reports said that when police stopped him, he failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of .237. Jones was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, alcohol concentration over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and failure to signal when required. THURSDAY, JAN. 26 According to reports, police arrested Tammie Lucas, 40, of Chicago, and charged her with felony retail theft. Man Throws Punches After Being Called Ugly

Chicago resident charged with battery after responding violently to insult, police said.

A man said another man called him “ugly,” and then things got ugly. Police said they responded to a call about a fight happening outside Harte’s Saloon, 9858 S. Artesian, on the night of May 10, and they found the two men standing outside when they arrived.  According to police reports, Raymond E. Calabrese, 52, of Chicago, struck the victim twice with his closed fist, causing a laceration and swelling to lips. Calabrese said the victim, a 38-year-old male, had called him “ugly.” Calabrese said he felt insulted, so he punched the man, according to police. Calabrese was charged with battery.

Evergreen Park police reports: May 9-10

TUESDAY, MARCH 10 Two women were caught stealing from Walmart, police said. According to police reports, at about 9:22 p.m., Kenyatta S. Nash, 30, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft for stealing five assorted clothing items totaling $47.50, from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. Creeonia T. Perrin, 19, of Chicago, took 10 items valued at $100.41 from Walmart, police said. The two women were caught upon exiting the store, according to reports. MONDAY, MAY 9 Two women got into a street fight outside a hospital, according to police. Police said that at about 5:26 p.m., Leola J.
