Police nab a man for stealing from the old Webb Ford lot.
An Evergreen Park resident was caught stealing wire from the old Webb Ford lot in broad daylight, police said. According to reports, police saw Sean D. Weber, 39, stealing wire from light posts at Webb Ford, 2601 W. 95th St., at about 10:57 a.m. on May 9. Police said that when they caught him, Weber had in his possession a 50-foot piece of copper wire and gray electrical boxes. Weber was charged with theft. Webb Ford closed in January 2009, said Marty Webb, a member of the family that owned the car dealership. The 6.5 acres of vacant land was under contract to sell at the end of last year.

SUNDAY, APRIL 3 Marie P. Davis, 51, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft after police said she took five items valued at $209.96 from Walmart, 2500 95th St., around 7:30 p.m. While in the domestic department, Davis placed electronics items in an empty shopping bag that she got from her purse, then pushed her cart into the customer service department, and requested a refund from an employee, according to reports. Davis gave the employee a receipt for five items she purchased March 31, and police said she was given a full refund. Store security caught Davis upon exiting, according to reports.
