Toscas and Lind Stay on Ballot for Worth Township Seats

Worth Township Electoral Board decides fellow board members and United Party of Worth Township slates mates aren't in violation of state election code.

The Worth Township Electoral Board tossed an objection to remove two fellow board members and slate mates from April 9th ballot. Concurrent hearings were held Monday morning to determine whether Worth Town Assessor John Toscas and Town Trustee Jack Lind were in violation of state election codes prohibiting both from running for two offices simultaneously. Moraine Trustee Candidate Removed From Ballot, Board Says Signatures Were Forged

An electoral board removed a Moraine Valley trustee candidate from April's ballot saying that signatures on her petition were forged.

The Moraine Valley Community College Electoral Board officially disqualified a candidate in the upcoming Board of Trustee’s election on Tuesday after ruling last week that her petition showed a pattern of forged signatures. Last month, Amy McGoogan, a school teacher from Crestwood, objected to 99 signatures on Connie D. Martin’s petition for trustee. Comparing the signatures on the petition with voter registration signatures on file, the Cook County Clerk’s Office agreed with McGoogan’s suspicion on 68 of those objections. After further review on Jan. 13, the Electoral Board determined an additional 17 names had been forged.
