The Village of Evergreen Park Municipal Officers Electoral Board, consisting of Trustees Carol Kyle and Jerome Bosch, and Village Clerk Catherine Aparo, with representation by attorney Joseph Cainkar, voted unanimously to remove Good’s name from the April 9 election ballot. Mayor views election campaign as therapeutic

In a recent conversation with the Evergreen Park Patch, Sexton said his bid for a fourth term is helping him recover from the West Nile virus that struck him last summer. From being bedridden, to using a wheelchair and then a walker, Sexton is now walking unaided although slowly and deliberately. There is more physical therapy to be endured, “but I am way ahead of the curve,” he said about his recovery. “I think it’s good I’m running. I need the wherewithal. I need the challenge. The past year for Moraine Valley Community College has been one of interesting developments. Sylvia Jenkins, the Palos Hills-based college's new president, spoke about developing it as a place welcoming to everyone. She talked with Sun-Times Media about ways to improve the college in the coming months and years. Moraine Valley serves 26 communities in south suburbs. One area which likely will be seen as an improvement to the campus sprouted in December. Construction began on a Health Wellness and Education Center, which is modeled after similar facilities at two universities. It's expected to be completed by 2014.
