TV Reality Star Found Dead in Chicago Ridge Apartment

Evergreen Park native Joey Kovar, star of "Real World" and "Celebrity Rehab" is dead of a suspected drug overdose, TMZ reports. Chicago Ridge Police confirm death.

Joey Kovar, 29, the Chicago model, actor and wrestler, was found dead Friday morning in a Chicago Ridge apartment. Kovar made his TV debut in MTV’s “Real World” and famously sought help for cocaine and ecstasy addiction from Dr. Drew on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab." A spokesman for the Chicago Ridge Police Department confirmed that Kovar was found dead Friday morning in a friend’s apartment on the 9800 block of South Sayer Avenue. No foul play is suspected and police are conducting a death investigation. TMZ reported that a female friend discovered Kovar around 9 a.m. and called 911 when she noticed blood coming out Kovar’s mouth and ears. His family suspects a drug overdose. The troubled star was born Joseph Eugene Kovar in Evergreen Park. …

Debbie, I didn't know Joey Kovar, but I grew up in EP and I keep thinking about his kids and the odds are like one in a million of a guy from EP achieving fame! Do you know any of Joeys friends or can you get a hold of his mom or any of his family because I thought maybe WE as a community could do something for Joey as a remembrance (especially for his kids).
