Business Comings & Goings: Moon’s Burgers Closes

Bears Hall of Famer Dan Hampton will headline the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Sports Luncheon. Demolition begins of old Kmart building in Oak Lawn. Odyssey Fun World opens holiday light show.

Tony Gambino III has apparently given up on trying to make a go of a restaurant at 3342 W. 95th St. in Evergreen Park. Connect to Patch: Oak Lawn / Evergreen Park / Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Gambino first tried it with one of his Taco Fresco franchises, which have been successful elsewhere in the Chicago area but didn’t catch on in Evergreen Park or Tinley Park. About a year ago, he borrowed a page from his family’s successful Moon’s Sandwich Shop at 16 S. Western Ave. and opened Tony Moon’s Burgers, which got generally good grades from online reviewers. But Moon’s Burgers closed abruptly at the beginning of November. The phone number has been disconnected and the shop has a “for rent” sign in the window. Demolition started earlier this month …

Only made it twice though before they closed. I hope someone finds something that works in that space.   more ›

He said the spa specializes in manicures and pedicures and also rents out the boutique for parties. Hours for the spa are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday. For information, call 708-499-2386. Business Comings & Goings: Harold's Chicken Shack Coming to 95th Street

Sara Lee Outlet Store in Oak Lawn will stay open through October, Harold's Chicken Shack to replace Fatburger in Beverly.

Singer Kanye West’s failed Fatburger empire was replaced in Orland Park by a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurant earlier this year and looks to soon be replaced in Beverly by another Harold’s Chicken Shack restaurant. The Homewood-based Harold’s has signs proclaiming a new location is coming soon to 2341 W. 95th St. in Beverly. A call to Harold’s corporate office on Tuesday was not returned. A new Dunkin’ Donuts has opened at 10301 S. Central Ave. in Oak Lawn in the former Buscemi’s Beef restaurant. The new doughnut shop offers the usual Dunkin coffee and doughnuts and also has a drive-up window. Except for a coin-laundry, the rest of the retail strip is vacant, which may be the result of a lengthy foreclosure case that dates back to February…
