TUESDAY, MAY 14 James Donnley, 32, of the 8700 block of Kostner Avenue, Hometown, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without insurance, according to a report. Donnley was stopped at about 4:22 p.m. in the 3500 block of West 95th Street for making an improper turn. Police allegedly found 0.8 grams of heroin, a cooking spoon and two syringes. SUNDAY, MAY 12 April Banks, 41, of the 4100 block of West Potomac Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. TUESDAY, MAY 7 Cameron Welch, 19, of the 500 block of West 97th Street, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking $57.54 worth of items, including some from the sporting goods department inside Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. Helen James, 55, of the 6200 south of Drexel Avenue, Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass, according to a report. James was reportedly asking people for money outside Sam's Club, 9400 S. Western Ave., and had been warned previously to stay away from the business. TUESDAY, MARCH 12 Virgil Hill, 56, of Dolton, was charged with retail theft, according to a police report. He is accused of taking a $700 computer from Wal-Mart, 2500 W. 95th St. He was arrested at about 7:21 p.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 9 David Prater, Jr., 32, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, failing to signal when required, improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving without a license, according to a police report. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13 Alphonso C Williams, 40, of Matteson, was charged with aggravated driving with a suspended license and obstructing justice, according to a report. His license had been previously revoked for driving under the influence. He was stopped at about 12:58 p.m. near 95th Street and Western Avenue. MARCH 7 Casey Tucker, 26, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. Police say he opened up a bottle of Grey Goose vodka valued at $49.99 in the middle of Sam's Club, 9400 S. Western Ave., and began drinking it. MARCH 5 Iesha T. Washington, 22, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. She took a $79.99 jacket from Carson's without paying, police said. Jesus Salgado, 27, of Bridgeview was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers observed Salgado apparently purchase in iPhone in the Sam's Club parking lot and after asking him if he had anything on him he admitted to having marijuana, police said. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13 Lester Wilkerson, 60, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft. He took batteries valued at $65.82 from Walmart, police said. He had a previous conviction for theft that increased the offense to a felony, police said. Willie A. Hughes, 45, of Chicago was charged with retail theft after taking seven sticks of deodorant from Pete's Fresh Market. TUESDAY, FEB. 12 Michael Mitchell, 25, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. Police picked up two people wanted on warrants during separate incidents.
Two Evergreen Park fugitives were taken into police custody last month in two separate incidents. A Burbank man was a passenger in a car that was stopped by Oak Lawn police after the driver of the vehicle was stopped allegedly for speeding on the 4900 block of West 95th Street around 1:07 a.m. Dec. 23. Greenwood According to the police report, the driver was in a hurry to get home and told police he was not aware he was going 50mph in a 30mph speed zone. WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19 Brian Cashmore, 21, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft. At about 3 p.m., security staff at Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St., reportedly saw Cashmore take a “Fast Five” DVD into a bathroom. A short time later, Cashmore allegedly emerged from the bathroom without the DVD in sight. When confronted by security staff, Cashmore reportedly was found to have the DVD on him, inside a CD case he was carrying. The empty “Fast Five” case was retrieved from a garbage can in the bathroom, police said. TUESDAY, DEC. 18 Jose Sanchez, 31, of Burbank, was charged with disorderly conduct. Chicago man charged with felony retail theft being held without bond at Cook County Jail, police say.
A Chicago man was charged with felony retail theft after police said he walked out of the Jewel-Osco at 9424 S. Pulaski Ave. in Oak Lawn with a cart full of unbagged groceries, reports said. Police said a Salvation Army bell ringer collecting donations in front of the store called police when she noticed a man identified as Joe E. Pearson, 48, allegedly pushing the cart full of groceries through the parking lot around 11:22 a.m. Dec. 10. Pearson fled through the parking lot toward Evergreen Park, reports said.
