Evergreen Park Home Sales Hold Steady as Chicago Area Hits Six-Year High

The village's real estate market saw the number of homes sold in September hold steady, while the value dropped. Check out the numbers and tell us what you think it means for the local housing market.

Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—and most of the Southland saw a similar boost. In Evergreen Park home sales in September stayed fairly even year over year. Last month 17 homes were sold in the village, while a total of 18 were sold in September 2011.  However, the average price of those sales did take a hit. In September 2011 the average price of a home sold in Evergreen Park was $131,355, while this year that number dropped to  $120,617, according to the data. That's a decrease of 8.2 percent.  Tinley Park saw the greatest increase in the area, with the number of homes sold increasing 107.1 percent in September 2012 over September 2011, according to the …
