Evergreen Park Community High School senior Kylee Keeton was honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a president’s Volunteer Service Award on behalf of President Barack Obama. Kylee was presented with the award by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country. Kylee participated in the Spirit of Community program this year as a representative of Evergreen Park Community High School where she is a student. Ten EPCHS students graduate from Mustang Mediators Peer Mediation Program.

Evergreen Park Community High School is pleased to announce the new graduates of the Mustang Mediators Peer Mediation Program. Ten teacher-nominated students applied and successfully completed two three-hour training sessions over winter break - Monica Yapan, Jasmine Ivy, Megan Garcia, Brittney DeMik, Lauren Bourke, Miranda Law, Tyra Smith, Lily Lopez, Chris O'Grady, and Leeza Campbell. Counseling interns Samantha Antos and Lauren Dentzman led the training sessions defining the terms of peer mediation, origins of conflict, five basic conflict management styles, active listening skills, and breakdown of the process of mediation. The facilitators also led the students in role-play examples and brainstorming activities to drive the topics …

Alleman 23, Evergreen Park 7. The Mustangs' deep playoff run was halted by Alleman's strong defense and run game.
The Evergreen Park Mustang's dream season ended Saturday night against Alleman from Rock Island in the Class 4A semifinals. Evergreen Park took an early lead on a Brandon White touchdown run, and the game remained tied 7-7 until the final minute of the first half. With 32 seconds left, Alleman's Sean Wetherell caught a touchdown pass to put the Pioneers ahead 13-7. On the ensuing kickoff, CJ Kolls recovered a loose ball to set up an Alleman field goal, giving the Pioneers a 16-7 lead at the half. The Mustangs couldn't get any more offense going in the second half and were plagued by penalties and sacks that had them moving in the wrong direction. The 8-3 Mustangs entertain the Brooks Eagles in the Class 4A quarterfinal tonight (Saturday) at Evergreen Park High School. Sign up for the Evergreen Park Patch newsletter and breaking news alerts. After a terrible first half last week against Richmond-Burton, Evergreen Park dominated in the second half scoring a close 34-27 victory for a berth in this week’s quarterfinals. It's homecoming weekend at Oak Lawn Community High School. The Oak Lawn Spartans entertain the Evergreen Park Mustangs starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
The 1-4 Oak Lawn Spartans will entertain the 3-2 Evergreen Park Mustangs at Warren O. Keneipp Athletic Stadium/Edward F. Napleton Field. The Mustangs showed their school pride as they marched in the annual Homecoming Parade Sept. 21. Evergreen Park Community High School students from a range of teams and clubs donned their green and marched through the neighborhood.
