Mustangs Let Braves Slip Away
After controlling much of the game, Evergreen Park's boys basketballs squad can't keep Bremen down.
Evergreen Park had numerous chances to put Bremen away in Friday night’s South Suburban Conference crossover game, but the visiting Braves refused to be kept down. Bremen was held to just five points in the first quarter and didn’t take the lead until the third quarter, but the Braves prevailed for a 51-47 win over the host Mustangs. “We shouldn’t have lost it,” Evergreen senior T.J. Cobbs said. “We got leads, but we didn’t know how to close them up on defense. “Our morale isn’t down. We just need to come back Tuesday night with a win.” “We can’t take anything good from a loss like this,” Mustangs head coach Bruce Scaduto said. “They broke down our defense, and beat us to a lot of loose balls.” The Mustangs (5-15, 0-5) got 14 points apiece…
