7-Eleven Robbers Nabbed After Crashing Car Into Tree, Cops Say

Cops nab two Chicago residents believed to be responsible for Sunday afternoon robbery of Oak Lawn convenience store, police say.

This story has been updated to reflect charges filed against two Chicago residents believed to be responsible for an armed robbery Sunday afternoon in Oak Lawn. A police chase that spanned Oak Lawn and Evergreen Park, ended when two men accused of robbing a convenience store crashed their car into a tree in the Beverly neighborhood. Clifton Hall Jr., 50, and Clifton B. Moore, 39, both of Chicago were charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm. Connect to Patch: Oak Lawn / Beverly-Mt. Free Slurpees and Mini-Party Attire at 7-Eleven Today

For its Birthday, 7-Eleven stores across the country are giving away free Slurpees. Go grab yours from one of two locations in Evergreen Park.

As the largest store chain in the country celebrates its 85th Birthday today, it invites guests across the U.S. to the party. If you need a cool treat, drop by either of Evergreen Park's two 7-Eleven stores and grab a free 7.11-ounce slurpee drink from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. while supplies last. Party guests will also receive mini party apparel -- tiny bowties, tiny hair bows, tiny party hats all in honor of the big birthday celebration. In town, there's a 7-Eleven at 99th Street and Kedzie Avenue, and at 3440 W. 95th St. Since 2002, the company has given away millions of free Slurpee beverages on July 11th. To celebrate 7-Eleven’s new Slurpee Lite, a sugar-free drink with half the calories, locations are giving away free 7.11-ounce Slurpees.

Summer is almost here and 7-Eleven is kicking off the Slurpee season with its Slurpee Lite, a new sugar-free category containing half calories than an 8 ounce Fanta Wild Cherry Slurpee drink. Try one for free on May 23, SlurpFREE day! Visit the nearest 7-Eleven stores from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a free 7.11 ounce Slurpee drink. In Evergreen Park, there's a 7-Eleven at 99th Street and Kedzie Avenue, and at 3440 W. 95th St. According to the company, "This launch marks the first time in 45 years (the life of Slurpee!) that 7-Eleven has expanded the Slurpee brand to include a sugar-free option on a national level." Oh Thank Heaven! 7-Eleven Celebrates 84 Years with Free Slurpees

For its Birthday, 7-Eleven stores across the country are giving away free Slurpees.

Windy thunderstorms and rigid 72 degree weather took over this morning but as the sun comes out and the temperature rises, something cold to drink sounds pretty good right now. In honor of it's 84th Birthday, 7-Eleven is giving out free 7.11 ounce Slurpees, something the convenience store chain has been doing since 2002 when it turned 75. It's a gesture, the company says, to say "thank you" to its customers for years of patronage and support, touting the theme, “Our Birthday – Your Bash.” Patch dropped by the local Evergreen Park 7-Eleven, 3440 W. 95th St. and caught up with a couple of ladies who were on a quick lunch break.
