A police chase that spanned Oak Lawn and Evergreen Park, ended when two men accused of robbing a convenience store crashed their car into a tree in the Beverly neighborhood. For its Birthday, 7-Eleven stores across the country are giving away free Slurpees.

Windy thunderstorms and rigid 72 degree weather took over this morning but as the sun comes out and the temperature rises, something cold to drink sounds pretty good right now. In honor of it's 84th Birthday, 7-Eleven is giving out free 7.11 ounce Slurpees, something the convenience store chain has been doing since 2002 when it turned 75. It's a gesture, the company says, to say "thank you" to its customers for years of patronage and support, touting the theme, “Our Birthday – Your Bash.” Patch dropped by the local Evergreen Park 7-Eleven, 3440 W. 95th St. and caught up with a couple of ladies who were on a quick lunch break.
