Founded in 2006, Jacob's Well Church Community has been at its present location in Evergreen Park since 2008. ItMore seeks to change the view of the Christian Church by focusing on strengthening a relationship with God through building relationships with others through community outreach.

Pastor Mark Brouwer has recently come to Evergreen Park to serve as the pastor of Jacob's Well Church Community. He's been the founding pastor of two churches in Texas and Minnesota.

United by Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church

United by Faith Lutheran Church was established in 1998 by the merging of two churches: Bethel Lutheran Church and RidgeMore Evangelical Lutheran Church. It seeks to be "faithful disciples of Christ for all by providing a place of haven and healing and celebrating God's creation through the arts." The tent-shaped church was designed by architects in 1961 and has become known as the "Tent of the Lord." Members may participate in several activities including Bible study, choir, women's group, volunteer opportunities and Godly Play (for our youngest members). Bethel Bible Church

Bethel Bible Church was founded on September 11, 1966 as a result of two churches merging: Bethel Baptist Church ofMore Evergreen Park and Grace Bible Church of Chicago.

Lead by Pastor Steve Worsham, Bethel Bible Church has a worldwide missionary focus, supporting 17 missions in 7 countries. The church's local ministry includes Bible classes; a children's church geared toward that age group; a Tuesday-evening AWANA club for grades K-6; a Thursday drop-in recreational program called "The Village," for high school students; and DNA, Dead Now Alive, a high school Bible study group.

Sunday school starts at 9:30am and directly after, Sunday worship starts at 10:30am. Men's study and women's prayer time are both at 7pm on Wednesdays.

Evergreen Park Presbyterian Church

Evergreen Park Presbyterian Church was incorporated in 1947 after being a mission church for a year, and has been atMore its present location since 1967. Current Pastor Muriel Miller leads the congregation and encourages members to be active and fellowship in the community and church activities. The church mission statement expresses that "fellowship with Christ is the primary relationship of life."

Sitting at the intersection of 89th Street and Francisco Avenue, Evergreen Park Presbyterian Church has a Memorial Garden on the north side of the building, where members and village residents are welcome to sit and reflect. Each stone is in memory of a passed member.

Members of the congregation have the chance to participate in Sunday School, Sunday Fellowship with the Deacons, the Celtic Choir, Women's Association, Book Club and several seasonal activities. The church opens its doors to the community, serving as a training area for Boy Scout leaders among other activities.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church is the oldest church in Evergreen Park. Established in 1893 by student pastors fromMore Northwestern University, today one of its main goals is to "open doors for all God's children to actualize our potential in Jesus Christ; Praise, Study and Service."

As a staple in the community, First United Methodist Church places a strong emphasis on doing God's work in the community through its programs, services and outreach efforts across the city. The church supports agencies including the Village Food Pantry, ChildServ, Red Bird Mission and United Methodist Committee on Relief. The church also rents out its space for nonprofit groups.

Some of the more than 75 ministries and services include the adult, teen and children's Bible Studies, Teddy Bear Ministry, Trunk & Treat for Halloween, and a Stewardship Drive. Members regularly volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, WTTW Phone-a-thons and the Brookfield Zoo. Church service is held Sundays at 10:15am, with adult Bible study directly after, from 11:45am - 1pm. Bible study for teens and children is on Tuesdays from 8pm - 9pm.

St. Bernadette Church

St. Bernadette Church was established in 1947, when founding Pastor, Rev. Morgan O'Brien purchased 5 acres of whereMore the church currently sits, for $20,000. The first service was held in a nearby funeral home and the first baptism was at Little Company of Mary Hospital. The church gradually grew and established St. Bernadette Catholic Academy in 1949.

The parish is located just a few blocks north of Little Company of Mary Hospital. As the church mission statement says, the faith community there lives the gospel message through "providing opportunities for spiritual growth and social awareness through Liturgy, Education and Service to all God's People."

Parishioners may participate in several groups including Religious Education, youth ministry, the music ministry, the ELS Program, MANNA News and more. St. Bernadette volunteers as a group with St. Vincent DePaul, Aid to the Needy, Altar and Rosary Society, Family and School Association, Eucharistic Adoration and the Cub Scouts.

Maranatha Chapel

Maranatha Chapel is located on the westernmost tip of Evergreen Park. Lead by Pastors Doug and Lamond Banks, theMore church places a strong emphasis on serving God and appreciating diversity. The church has several ministries, geared toward children, youth/college-aged, adults, different ethnic groups and those who want to do missions work.

Members may enroll their children in nursery or toddler care. Older children may participate in the Children's Church, Royal Rangers mentoring program for boys and Mpact Clubs for girls, that focuses on developing girls' lives. Different adult ministries include the men's and women's ministries, seniors ministry and a missions prayer group.

One of Maranatha Chapel's Ethnic ministries is the Hispanic Ministry, which has a Spanish worship service, bible study classes. The Arabic Ministry has services and bible studies in Arabic. Immanuel United Church of Christ

Founded in 1883, Immanuel United Church of Christ is located just steps from Evergreen Plaza. Lead by Pastor YvetteMore Marie Eber, the church places a strong emphasis on worship, community outreach, affordable housing and Christian education.

Regarding congregational life and leadership, the church displays a "common life of worship and fellowship as the product of the efforts of many dedicated members and friends of Immanuel Church." Members may participate in a number of fellowship groups including the Men's Club, Women's Guild and the Immanuel Pioneers Seniors group.

Parents of small children may enroll them in Imannuel Preschool, the church's half-day preschool that meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from September to May. The morning session meets 9am-11:30am and the afternoon session meets 1pm-3:15pm. The church also offers an Enrichment Class on Monday mornings for 4 and 5 year olds.

As one of its main missions for over 45 years, Immanuel United Church of Christ privides low-income housing for seniors in their 24-unit facility, located just across the street from the church. For more details, please contact the church office.
