Headed by John Murphy, the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center houses the Village of Evergreen Park's Citizen's Service, Recreation Department and the Youth Commission. Jolene Churak is the director of the Citizens Service, while Dennis Duffy heads the Recreation Department and Jim Feltz leads the Youth Commission.

The community center has a variety of resources for people of all ages, including a gym, a library, a TV room, several activity rooms and a rec room with a pool table among other fun games and lounge chairs. The center's Youth Commission is usually open Tuesday through Friday, 3:00pm - 5:00pm during the school year, however during vacations, it is open Tuesday through Friday, 1:00pm - 5:00pm. It offers community services where youth can partake, including babysitting classes, field trips, craft classes, basketball leagues, grass cutting service, leaf raking and snow shoveling services. High school students are welcome to come to the community center to participate in any of these activities to fulfill community service requirements.
