Wrestling: Evergreen Park Advances Three Individuals to Sectional
Jesse McLain, Will Jones and Taeylor Jackson recorded third-place finishes in the Class 2A Evergreen Park Regional on Saturday. All three Mustang standouts will move on to compete in the Lemont Sectional.
For Evergereen Park's wrestling team, the magic number was three.
Evergreen Park advanced three individuals in competion at the Mustangs' own Class 2A regional on Saturday. All three notched third-place finishes.
Senior Jesse McLain scored a 53-second pin over Fenton's Raul Garcia to place third in the 126-pound weight class. McLain pushed his record to 27-4 and moved on to the sectional next Friday and Saturday at Lemont.

He will be joined by junior Taeylor Jackson and sophomore Will Jones. Jackson pinned Lemont's Jake Pack in 1:02 to place third in the 113-pound weight class. Jones topped Lemont's Vince Lietza 8-2 to place third at 120 pounds.
Jones boasts a 24-12 record. Jackson is 9-5.

The Mustangs' three third-place finishers helped Evergreen Park nail down a seventh-place finish in the 11-team regional. The Mustangs scored 60 points. Lombard Montini won the team title with 305 points. Lemont placed second with 231.5 and Fenton was third with 184.
