While most high school boys are enjoying the summer at local pools or some other popular hangouts, Brother Rice's volleyball players are keeping in shape by competing in a summer volleyball league at Palos Courts.

Matt Gallik, a 2007 alum who currently is playing for Lewis University, is coaching the Brother Rice varsity ream. Gallik is pushing the boys to grasp fundamental aspects of the game during summer play.

Learning technique is huge for Gallik as he prepares Brother Rice for the upcoming season. On Monday, July 11, Brother Rice defeated Andrew 25-18 and 25-23 and then the Brother Rice  junior varsity team 25-20 and 25-16.
