On His Game: Evergreen Park's Nick Carter
Mustang distance runner Nick Carter has battled through injuries to become one of the captains on the boys cross country team.
Evergreen Park boys cross country coach Libby McArthur remembers having to stop Nick Carter from running.
"Nick has been the hardest worker, he has fought through injuries and that never held him back," McArthur said. "He'd get mad when I told him to stop."
Eventually, Carter convinced McArthur to put him on a bike if she wasn't going to allow him to run. And it's that same perseverance that has made him into one of Evergreen Park's captains this season.

"I hope this team goes downstate, that's probably our overall goal," Carter said.
