On Her Game: Mother McAuley's Dempster Eyes Golf's Prize
Michelle Dempster has been the match medalist on numerous occasions this season for Mother McAuley. She has her sights set on a trip to the IHSA state finals.
Mother McAuley coach Michele Stepanek uses the word "consistent" to describe Michelle Dempster's golf game.
Dempster, a senior, has been one of McAuley's top golfers, typically shooting in the 80s for 18 holes, Stepanek says.
Dempster has been the match medalist a handful of times already this season, and Stepanek thinks that Dempster has the opportunity to qualify for the IHSA state championships.

"She's very competitive as well and has been playing golf a long time," Stepanek said. "I can see (Dempster and senior Anne Best) definitely moving forward and seeing them in Decatur (site of the IHSA girls state tournament)."
