Hot Shot: Evergreen Park's Cheatham Honored as Athlete of the Week
Mustangs' junior track standout will compete in the 55-meter high hurdles at indoor state meet this weekend.
Evergreen Park junior Chris Cheatham can fly around the track. He proved his talent on Saturday at an indoor track meet in Romeoville.
Cheatham placed first in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.0 seconds. As a result of the stirring performance, he is honored as Patch’s Athlete of the Week.
“He’s always there,” Evergreen Park coach Ray Mankowski said. “He always wants to be in front and make himself better.”

Cheatham will compete in the Illinois Prep Top Times meet this weekend at Illinois Wesleyan University. He will be entered in the 55 high hurdles at the indoor "state" meet.
On Saturday, Cheatham also part of the Evergreen Park 4x400 relay team that placed third.
