Evergreen Park Girls Swim Team Enjoys a Successful Debut

Evergreen Park opened the season against Richards and Shepard, and the Mustangs won both the junior varsity and varsity girls swim meets.

Stephanie Townsend and Victoria Lambton were two of the standouts on the opening night of the girls swimming season for Evergreen Park.

Both won two individual events as the Mustangs (126 points) defeated Richards (108) and Shepard (83).

Townsend, a junior, won the 200 free and 100 butterfly. Lambton, a sophomore, won the 50 free and 100 free. The two were also part of two winning relay teams.

Townsend, Lambton, Erin Nielsen and Rachel Koronkiewicz won the 200 medley relay. Townsend, Lambton, Koronkiewicz and Britney Anderson later won the 200 free relay.

Anderson won the 500 free and placed second in the 200 free. Kate Easterhouse, Taylor Baer, Sam Gilhooly and Kasey Nolan teamed up for a second-place finish in the 200 free relay.

On the junior varsity level, Evergreen Park (127) also defeated Richards (108) and Shepard (74).

Caroline Egan, McKenna Moran, Nikki Hayes and Colleen Neylon placed first in the 200 medley relay. Egan and Aren Castillo finished 1-2 in the 200 free. Moran won the 100 butterfly. Colleen Elzinga finished first in the 500 free.

Egan placed first in the 100 back. Abbi Donovan won the 100 breaststroke event. Moran, Donovan, Adia Taylor and Elzinga won the 200 free relay. Moran, Alyssa Gonzalez, Neylon and Egan won the 400 free relay.
