Cronin Makes the Rounds for Evergreen Park Baseball Team
The Mustangs defeated T.F. South 5-3 on Thursday behind the versatile play of senior Dan Cronin.
The Evergreen Park baseball team picked up a big win Thursday, led by the heads-up play of senior Dan Cronin
Cronin’s impact was felt throughout the Mustangs’ 5-3 win over T.F. South. He threw out a runner at home from center field, he stole home and he pitched the seventh inning to earn his third save of the season.
Junior Jesse McLain pitched six innings for the Mustangs and struck out two. Sophomore catcher Kyle Bock also showed some savvy behind the plate, throwing out runners at second and first base.

Evergreen Park improved to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the South Suburban Conference.
Tough Loss for Mustangs Girls Soccer Team
The Evergreen Park girls soccer team played a tightly contested game on Monday at Eisenhower. The Mustangs lost in a shootout after tying Eisenhower 1-1.

“The entire team stepped up for that game,” coach Anna Wilson said in an email.
Evergreen Park is 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the South Suburban Conference.
Girls Track Team Update
At the Oswego East Invite on April 15, the Evergreen Park girls track and field team placed seventh out of 10 schools. Sophomore Monica Falconer placed third in the long jump with a distance of 13 feet and 8 inches. Senior Amber Hunt placed third in the discus throw with a distance of 94 feet, 5 inches.
Brother Rice Football Players College-Bound
Brother Rice is sending seven seniors to play football in college (see picture). Here’s the list from a recent Brother Rice press release:

Doherty said he’s excited about his future in college.
“Brother Rice has prepared me to be successful on and off the field,” he said in the press release. “I have been instilled with dedication and a strong work ethic which will continue to guide me on the field and in the classroom.”
Making Waves
The Brother Rice-Mother McAuley sailing team took part in the Midwest District Mallory Qualifying Regatta last weekend. The event took place at the Columbia Yacht Club. Read about the results on the Brother Rice website.
