Athlete of the Week: In Sloppy Conditions, Andreotti Rushes to Marist Aid
Silver lining: Peter Andreotti provided a stellar ground game for the RedHawks in Marist's 33-20 football loss to Nazareth.
Peter Andreotti is only a sophomore, but in one of Marist's biggest games of the season he played like a veteran.
Andreotti had 112 rushing yards on 19 carries and scored one touchdown in Marist's 33-20 loss to Nazareth on Friday night. His touchdown early in the third quarter helped cut the Road Runner lead to 20-13.
Andreotti's emergence as reliable running back provided a great complement to quarterback Ian Woodworth's passing attack. And, even with the loss, Andreotti will continue to be a focus for Marist as the RedHawks strive to earn a berth in the IHSA football playoffs.
