School, Village Board Election Filing Deadline Nears

Do you want to run for school board or another local office? Petitions are due later this month.

The deadline is fast approaching for residents looking to join the ranks, or keep their job, as an elected official.

Potential candidates for office can submit their filing paperwork between 8 a.m. on Dec. 17 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 26. Paperwork can be turned in at the administrative office of the body they are looking to join during normal business hours. For information on the details and deadlines of getting your name on the ballot, visit the State Board of Elections website.

April 2013 will see numerous local offices up for election including mayor and half of the village board as well as local school board seats.
