Sarah Menke: Patch Whiz Kid

Every week we'll feature a whiz kid, group or club from Evergreen Park.

  • Whiz Kid: Sarah Menke, 18
  • Whiz Kid's school: Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School
  • Whiz Kid's Accomplishments:  Recently being cast as "Granny" in the All-State Production of "Into the Woods." This highly selective opportunity to be a cast member was extended to only 14 girls in the entire state. Sarah is also a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, at the 99th Street Summer Theatre and at Most Holy Redeemer Parish rectory. She is the President of McAuley's chapter of the International Thespian Society, Secretary of the National Honor Society, Secretary of the A Cappella Choir, and a member of the Student Mentors, Student Ambassadors, and the Spanish Honor Society.
In addition to taking several advanced placement and honors classes, Sarah was named recipient of the 2010 Catherine McAuley Award, a coveted award which epitomizes the mission of Mother McAuley High School and honors its namesake Catherine McAuley.
  • Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Sarah has a beautiful voice that she shares with the McAuley community through her involvement with Theatre, Chorus and A Cappella. She has participated in the school musical all four years and was "Maria" in this year's all-school production of "The Sound of Music."  A fun fact about Sarah is that she is a quadruplet, the only girl of the four.
