Q & A: Brother Rice High School Valedictorian Connor Fitzgerald

Brother Rice's 2011 Valedictorian Connor Fitzgerald shares with Patch his high school memories, future plans and advice to younger students.

With less than a week out of school, and 2011 valedictorian Connor Fitzgerald has big plans for the future. He paused to tell Patch all about them, his favorite high school memories and advice for incoming freshman.

Evergreen Park Patch: What was your most memorable High School moment?

Connor Fitzgerald: My most memorable high school moment is without a doubt being a counselor at the Edmund Rice Camp.  I had an amazing time spending my week with the less fortunate grammar school students in the area- they are some of the friendliest and warm-hearted kids I have ever met and it helped me to become a more appreciative person.

Patch: What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?

Fitzgerald: My advice for incoming freshmen is to be as open and eager to everything Brother Rice has to offer.  Take advantage of the many clubs and sports and don't be afraid to try new things.

Patch: What are your post-graduation plans?

Fitzgerald: Post-graduation, I plan to attend the University of Notre Dame and study in a dual engineering and business program.  After that, I hope to get into a good graduate school and study in either the engineering or business field, whichever one I end up enjoying more in college.
