McAuley Launches National Search for New Principal

National search underway to replace current principal who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School has engaged a national search firm to conduct a search for a new principal to start this summer.

The current principal, Claudia Woodruff, announced her retirement at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

Trinity Executive Partnership, of Westchester, is a national search firm specializing in recruitment for Catholic academic, health care, diocesan and social service institutions and organizations.

Mother McAuley is the largest all-girl private school in the country and is well known for academic excellence. The ideal candidate will serve as the educational leader of the school and reports to the school president.

The Principal must be an innovative, charismatic leader with outstanding communication skills. As a member of the leadership team, she/he must have a strong personal value system based in the Catholic tradition.

In the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy and their founder, Catherine McAuley, our high school has been serving the needs of young women and families in greater Chicagoland for almost 60 years. The school, affectionately known as the “Mighty Macs,” is located on the southwest side of Chicago on a top-quality campus with outstanding facilities that support our academic, arts and athletic programs.

The Principal will be responsible for implementing a visionary strategic plan that drives the pursuit of academic excellence with emphasis on the continuing integration of technology into the curriculum. The successful candidate must possess exceptional educational credentials and have a proven track record of collaborative leadership. At least a master’s degree is required along with applicable principal's licensure and a minimum of 10 years leadership experience.
