Marist outlasted Joliet Catholic Academy in an Instant Classic on Friday night. The two teams combined for 107 points and more than 1,000 yards offense.

The fireworks started early and lasted late.

Ryan Meyer caught a long touchdown pass to get Marist off on the right foot in its 56-51 football victory over Joliet Catholic Academy on Friday night. After JCA closed within 7-6, Ian Woodwarth connected with Nic Weishar for one touchdown and then ran for another as the RedHawks went ahead 21-13.

And the two teams were just getting warmed up.
