Evergreen Park Student Recognized for Volunteer Service by President Obama

Senior Kylee Keeton honored for her exemplary volunteer service by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of the president.

Evergreen Park Community High School senior Kylee Keeton was honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a president’s Volunteer Service Award on behalf of President Barack Obama.

Kylee was presented with the award by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country. Kylee participated in the Spirit of Community program this year as a representative of Evergreen Park Community High School where she is a student.

Kylee has volunteered numerous hours both at school and in her community.  At EPCHS, she has been involved in Snowball, Student Government, National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Yearbook, Art Club, class President, and Prom Committee.  Outside of EPCHS, Keeton has been volunteering at a Youth Group since 2009, Animal Welfare League the past two summers, Evergreen Park Youth Commission since 2008, and the past three years has been volunteering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Kylee has also traveled to Guatemala on mission trips the past few years assisting with providing villages with medical attention.
