EPCHS Conducts Annual Canine Drug Search

Evergreen Park Community High School conducts annual canine search as part of effort to maintain drug-free atmosphere for students and staff.

Evergreen Park Community High School, in cooperation with local law enforcement, conducted a random drug search search throughout the building on Tuesday.


Local law enforcement officials searched the campus using drug sniffing dogs, which included students’ hallway and gym lockers.


The canine search is conducted annually, as part of the state-required crisis training.

“In the past it’s been positive,” EPCHS principal William Sanderson said. “Parents and students have been very supportive.


The Board of Education adopted this policy in an effort to maintain a safe, drug-free educational environment.

Superintendent Dr. Beth Hart stated, “This is a pro-active attempt to maintain a drug-free atmosphere for the entire educational community.”  


Sanderson said the results of the search are confidential.
