District 231 Hosting Public Forum on Capital Projects

EPCHS's Board of Education is hosting a public forum on May 7 at 7 p.m. where they'll solicit community input regarding the District's 5-year capital projects plan.

With a stream of major projects coming to over the next five years, District 231's board of education is inviting the community to join the conversation.

The district is hosting a Supt. M. Elizabeth Hart said that this is the first time the district has held a public forum since she's been working in the district over the last 11 years.

Major capital projects under consideration include:

  • Artificial turf installation on the football field
  • Auditorium renovation
  • Science lab renovation
  • Air conditioning
  • Bathroom renovation

After the board presents the future capital projects, residents will have the chance to speak to the board at 2-minute intervals during the public comments section of the meeting.

A wonderful ooportunity to be heard, to ask questions, gain insite , and render an oppinion. More school boards should follow this example...ask before spending, and explain the expense...Uniquie!

Thanks for commenting, Jolene. Yes, this is a great opportunity to see what lies ahead. We ALL want to know where our tax dollars are going and this is one of the ways to stay informed.
