For This I am Thankful

A list of reasons to be thankful.

The good guy who keeps the bad guys off the street, for 25 years may I add.

The teacher who identifies a child's difficulty of hearing before the parents.

The Deacon who leaves in the middle of the night to help another family.

The nurse who runs to a gun shot victim without thinking of her own life in danger.

The mom that leaves her job (as in takes a year off) when her child is sick.

The sister who comes home on break from college and babysits her nephew so her sister doesn't have to pay for daycare for a week.

The brother that fights for his country while his wife delivers their second child.

The sister that comes home to help with that new baby.

The respiratory therapist who holds and comforts a baby the size of her hand.

The nurse that doesn't know she can handle it until after her own child has been diagnosed and beat the you know what out of cancer.

The dad that comforts you at your father in laws funeral.

The mom that will still hug you and stroke your hair when you have a bad day.

The police officer who has been on the job for 30 years.

The husband who supports your crazy apron wearing baking days just so you can make someone else smile.

The same husband who makes an effort to get to parent teacher conferences.

The person that comes to your house at any hour of day or night because she knows you need her support.

The friend that makes your family dinner after your son's accident, even though she has a baby of her own and a full time job.

The cousin that sends an email once in a while out of the blue just to say "hi, how you doing?"

The nurse (another one!) that you can call and meet at the hospital whether she is working or not, yes that has actually happened.

The great aunts and uncles that treat my kids as their own grandkids.

The couple that babysits your little one so you can have a "date night" with your older son and husband.

This is my family and for them I thankful this Thanksgiving.
