Village Board Briefer: March 21

The bare bones of what happened at Monday's Village Board meeting.

The Village Board met Monday evening, when trustees discussed a grant opportunity and street maintenance, among other Evergreen Park business.

Grant opportunity

Trustees voted to approve Resolution 8-2011, allowing the village to apply for a grant for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program. The program will add turn arrow signals to the east-west directions of the 99th Street and Pulaski Road intersection. Mayor James Sexton said the village will share the remaining cost not covered by the grant with the village of Oak Lawn.

Business Regulation Certificate Approved

The Village Board approved a regulation certificate for Elizabeth A. Sukowicz, Ph.D., clinical psychological services, at 3317 W. 95th St., Suite 205.

Street Maintenance Resolution Passed

The Board of Trustees voted Monday to approve Resolution 9-2011, for maintenance of highways and streets by municipality under the Illinois Highway Code. This yearly resolution, allows the village to use $514,000 of motor fuel taxes received from the state of Illinois to repair the roads.

Request Granted

Trustees approved a request from the Evergreen Park Boys Club to host its 2011 Opening Day Festivities and Parade on April 16, with an April 17 rain date.
