Evergreen Park Student to Serve on Senator Mark Kirk's Student Advisory Committee

A Junior at Evergreen Park Community High School was recently selected to be on Sen. Mark Kirk's (R-IL) Student Advisory Committee.

An student will get a peek into state politics and have the chance to voice her concerns on issues affecting her peers.

Rachel Torrez, a junior at Evergreen Park Community High School was selected to serve on Senator Mark Kirk's (R-IL) Student Advisory Committee.

According to Evergreen Park Community High School Principal William Sanderson, Torrez will meet with Kirk and other student leaders from Illinois high schools "to advise Senator Kirk on the important issues facing young adults growing up in Illinois."

The group's Oct. 22 meeting began a dialogue on the issues the student leaders felt were important to communicate to members of Congress, said Sanderson.

Torrez will update the periodically on meetings with Kirk's Student Advisory Committee.
