Woman Stopped for Shoplifting Had 13 Baggies of Heroin: Police Blotter

Drugs, High Speeds and List of Charges
Michael P. Rogers, 40 of Burbank was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped at 2:28 p.m. in the 8700 block of California for speeding and failure to signal, police said. He was observed traveling 60 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said. Officers found one clonazepam pill, 4.9 grams of marijuana and a metal pipe, police said. He was also cited for improper lane usage, failure to signal, speeding, driving with a cracked windshield and no insurance.
Gas Station Theft
Dominique Reed, 25, of Chicago was charged with felony theft. Reed was an employee at a gas station in the 2600 block of 87th Street and from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31 of last year she was video taped making false refunds, police said. An investigation revealed 21 instances of false transactions on video surveillance totalling $1,950, police said.

SUNDAY, FEB. 3
Heroin and Theft
Jennifer Newbauer, 26, of Oak Lawn was charged with felony retail theft, felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. At 10:44 a.m. she took 19 items hidden inside a comforter at Walmart, police said. The items, totalling $526.95 included an iPad and clothing, police said.

After she was stopped for the theft, police say she was found to be carrying 4.6 grams of heroin and a syringe. She has a prior conviction for retail theft, police said.
