Two Traffic Stops End in Heroin Arrests: Police Blotter

Heroin Possession
Matthew M. Svoboda, 37, of Justice was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped at 5:07 p.m. in the 8700 block of Pulaski for improper lane usage, police said. After he was stopped 12 foil wrappers of heroin totalling 4.8 grams fell out of his pant leg, police said. He was also found to be in possession of a syringe and other items used to cook and consume heroin, police said. He was also cited for improper lane usage, improper passing, failure to signal, suspended driver's license and no insurance.
Heroin Possession
Emma L. Baum, 20, of Palos Heights, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was stopped at 7:53 p.m. in the 8700 block of Pulaski for failure to signal, police said. She was found to have 2.7 grams of heroin and 13 pills of lorazapam, police said. Her passenger in the car, Dustin A. Coldiron, 23, of Burbank was also charged with heroin possession. A K-9 was used to find the drug under the passenger seat, police said.
