Rumble With Police Over Fake ID

Dec. 20: Three New Lenox women pushed, struck and spat on cops after one of them was caught with a fake ID, police said.

Shannon Barker, 20, of 525 W. Haven Ave. along with Elizabeth Gonzalez, 37, and Elizabeth V. Gonzalez, 22, both of 2160 Cattleman Drive, all were charged with battery in connection with the 12:30 a.m. Friday incident at the White Horse Inn.

Barker also was charged with unlawful use of a driver’s license and the illegal consumption of alcohol. The Gonzalezes were charged with resisting arrest on top of the battery.

Officers were sent to the West Maple Street tavern to check out a "complaint of a customer who presented a fraudulent driver’s license," police said.

"Officers were directed to Barker and discovered that she presented a driver’s license that was not hers," police said. "While taking Barker into custody both Elizabeth V. Gonzalez and Elizabeth Gonzalez interfered with the officers' duties, hitting them, pushing them and spitting on them."

Quarter Pounder

Nov. 27: An Orland Park woman is accused of pounding on the car windows and doors of an off-duty Cook County sheriff’s deputy’s car after she was asked to stop blocking the drive-thru line at McDonald’s, according to an Orland Park police report.

Dina M. Ramahi, 25, of the 15500 block of Peachtree Drive in Orland Park, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police were called to McDonald’s at 14445 LaGrange Rd. about a possible fight in the parking lot around 9:55 p.m. The off-duty deputy was in the drive-thru line, with an off-duty Cook County correctional officer also in the car, when another car was blocking the line, police said.

The two asked the people in the blocking car to move so cars could get through, and eventually the car moved. Once the two got their order, a woman, Ramahi, ran up to the passenger side and started banging on the door and window, police said. Ramahi then ran to the driver’s side and began pounding on that door and window with a closed fist, before trying to open the door, according to the report.

The driver then got out of the car and grabbed Ramahi’s arm, holding her until police arrived, according to the report. Another woman then yelled and swore at the two off duty law enforcement personnel, police said.

Ramahi told police that the man and woman in the car cursed at her and the other woman, and that’s when she ran up to the car and tried opening the door, according to the report.

Nothing Up Her Sleeve. Except Booze

Nov. 27: A Chicago woman was charged with felony retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly stole a bottle of tequila from an Oak Lawn liquor store, reports said.

A customer alerted staff at Kenwood Wine and Liquors at 10750 S. Cicero Ave. that she saw a customer allegedly conceal a one-liter bottle of Jose Cuervo in her coat.

The woman, identified as Monique Sullivan, 43, was with other people who paid for their merchandise when Sullivan followed them to the door without paying for the concealed bottle, police said.

Once she passed the last register, an employee shouted, “Give us our bottle back,” according the report. Police said that Sullivan walked over to the employee and pulled the bottle out of her sleeve.

Sullivan was detained until police arrived. When police ran her name, they learned that she had an active warrant out of Cook County for a probation violation for retail theft, reports said.

She was arrested and taken to the Oak Lawn police station. Sullivan allegedly told police that she went to the store with her godmother and picked up a bottle of tequila and had it tucked in by her left arm.

Sullivan then stated that she passed the register and realized she still had the bottle, so she walked back and set it down, police said.

Police also found two silver pipes with burnt copper meshing in Sullivan’s purse, reports said. When asked about the pipes, Sullivan allegedly admitted to having a crack addiction. Sullivan was charged with felony retail theft based on past convictions. She is currently being held in Cook County Jail. She’s due back in court on Jan. 7.
