Speeding Drunk Driver Backs into Police Car

Police said a drunk Bridgeview man was driving 18 miles over the speed limit and backed into a police squad car while being pulled over.

A man who was caught speeding in Evergreen Park compiled multiple traffic charges, including a DUI and backing into a police squad car.

Yusef Saleh, 20, of Bridgeview, was charged with speeding at 48 mph in a 30 mph zone, driving without headlights, driving with no insurance, improper backing into a police squad car and driving under the influence.

Police said they stopped Saleh at 3262 w 95th St. on June 3 at about 12:59 a.m. for speeding, and as Saleh was pulling over, he backed into the squad car. Police said there was a minor scratch on front end of the squad car as a result of Saleh backing into it.

After getting Saleh out of the car, police noticed mumbled and slurred speech. Police said he also appeared sleepy and was unable to understand instructions. Saleh registered a blood alcohol content of .139 on the breathalyzer at the police station, according to the report. A BAC of 0.08 is over the legal limit in Illinois.
