Retail Theft Round-Up: Police Blotter

Evergreen Park police reports, Feb. 12-13.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13

Lester Wilkerson, 60, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft. He took batteries valued at $65.82 from Walmart, police said. He had a previous conviction for theft that increased the offense to a felony, police said.

Willie A. Hughes, 45, of Chicago was charged with retail theft after taking seven sticks of deodorant from Pete's Fresh Market.  

TUESDAY, FEB. 12

Michael Mitchell, 25, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. He was captured on video at Walmart taking five items valued at $55.30 and then returning those same items for a refund, police said. 

Victor B. Shorters, 22, of Chicago was charged with retail theft after taking $216 worth of clothing from Carson's without paying, police said. 

Mikiel R. Andersin, 20, of Chicago was charged with retail theft after taking $76.73 of clothing from Carson's without paying, police said.

do you think the media is interested in the percentage of thefts committed by minorities in Evergreen Park like they are about the number of tickets given?

Cathie, I understood what you meant. And I agree if you commit retail theft you get arrested if you speed you get a ticket. It's simple! And if it appears the scales are tipped maybe the people tipping the scale by being arrested or ticketed should STOP! Quit hiding behind BAD BEHAVIOR!!! If you behave appropriately then there's nothing to "catch you doing"!!

Good point Cathie wont hear a response from the rabble rousing media on this one . Wish they would just report the news instead of creating it !
