Police: Man Had Fake Badge, Gun and Cuffs

A Wisconsin man is facing a felony charge after police found a badge in his wallet that they say he had should not have had. 

Maurice A. Warren, 42, of Twin Lakes, Wisc. was stopped on March 2 at  9:21 p.m. in the 9500 block of Pulaski Road for not having a rear registration light, police said. At the time of the stop police also believed he had an active warrant, however they say it was later discovered that he did not. 

While searching the vehicle, officers say they found a wallet with a U.S. Immigrations and Customs (ICE) badge inside. Warren claimed that he worked part-time as an officer for that agency, police said. 

He could not provide a phone number or any supporting documentation to prove that he was in fact an ICE officer, police said. It was also discovered that he had previously been arrested and a similar badge was found, police said. 

Under the front seat of Warren's car officers say they found a a Beretta-style gun that shoots only blanks and a pair of hand cuffs. 

Police say that Warren does in fact work at a building where the federal agency has offices, however he admitted that he is employed in a janitorial capacity. 

Warren was charged with felony impersonation of a peace officer.
