Chicago Police Seek Identity of Toddler Found Left on Curb

Witnesses tell cops unknown adult male left young boy on curb on city's South Side and then drove away, police say.


Police are trying to identify a young boy who was found sitting unattended on a curb on Chicago’s South Side Friday morning.

The approximately 20-24-month old boy was reportedly left by an unknown adult male black on the curb in the 6500 block of South Stewart around 10 a.m. 

Witnesses told police the man then drove away in a beige “unknown” vehicle. Information from Area South detectives did not specify the type of vehicle.

Police believe the child’s age to be between 20-24 months old. He is black, with brown eyes and brown hair, and stands 36-inches tall. There is a birthmark by his right eye.

The boy was found wearing a blue jacket with red trim and beige pants, black and white socks, and Nike Jordan shoes, detectives said.
