Police: Perp Pockets $1K of Perfume

Evergreen Park Police arrested an employee of Carson Pirie Scott after he attempted to steal $1,103 worth of fragrances.

Things aren't smelling so sweet for one employee of Carson Pirie Scott. 

Demario Strong, 33, of Chicago, was charged with felony theft in connection with a failed employee theft operation at the Evergreen Plaza department store.

On Sept. 24, police say that Strong went into a stock room of the store with empty pockets and emerged with pockets bursting with boxes of fragrances. This back and forth happened three times and was all recorded on store surveillance video, police said.

In total, police say that Strong removed 14 bottles of fragrances valued at $1,103 from the store. He was charged with felony theft.
