Police Catch Armed Robbery Suspect with Victim's Help

Evergreen Park police charged a Chicago man with felony armed robbery after the victim tracked him down weeks later.

Police said they arrested a man for armed robbery after his victim spotted him and followed him several weeks after the robbery.

James H. Robinson, 20, of Chicago, was charged with felony armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

On June 24, Robinson approached a man on the 9200 block of Troy Avenue, ordered him to the ground and took his cell phone from his pocket, police said. According to police reports, as soon as Robinson ran away, the victim got off the ground and Robinson told him to get back down and fired a shot at him, but missed him and instead hit a tree. Robinson got into a silver Cadillac and fled, police said.
