Drug Sting in Walgreens Parking Lot
Police said Darious D. Lemon, 21, of Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana for having 16.2 grams of marijuana. According to reports, tactical officers had information that a possible drug deal was taking place in the parking lot at the Walgreens at 87th and Kedzie, involving a maroon car. Officers said they set up surveillance on the lot and saw the described car come into the lot at about 5:02 p.m., occupied by a female driver and a male passenger.
Officers found a plastic bag with a green leafy substance in it, with smaller bags in the bag, on the passenger side of the car where Lemon was sitting. According to reports, police ordered Lemon to show them his hands, but he did not comply. Police said they had to physically extract Lemon from the car to take him into custody. Officers recovered the clear plastic bag containing 18 smaller plastic bags with what was later tested to be marijuana, police said. The driver wasn’t charged because the drugs were found under Lemon’s seat, police said.
