WEDNESDAY, DEC. 21

Cops Nab Man on Felony Forgery Charge

 said a man attempted to cash a stolen or lost money order at PLS Check Cashers, 2507 W. 95th St. Robert F.  Jackson, 42, of Chicago was charged with felony forgery. According to police reports, the store contacted the victim, who said he had lost four money orders. Police said the theft of the money orders had occurred in South Holland earlier that day. The money order recovered in Evergreen Park was in the amount of $2,500, police said.

Woman Uses Stolen Bag to Lift Other Items

Courtney A. Newt, 19, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. Police said she took eight items valued at $66.77 from Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. According to reports,  at about 5:57 p.m., she removed a cosmetics bag from display and put stolen items in it, took the tag off the bag and left the store. Police caught Newt upon exiting, reports said.

TUESDAY, DEC. 20

Felony Retail Theft at Walmart

A man was arrested and charged with felony retail theft. Police said Kirk R. Donley, 49, of Chicago took items from Walmart totaling $79.97 at about 12:30 p.m. A Walmart security officer saw him select a Bluetooth headset from the display, travel to another section of the store, take it out of its container and put it in his pocket, police said. According to reports, Donley paid for other items, but not the Blutooth headset. Police took him into custody, and because detectives determined that he had a previous conviction for retail theft, they upgraded his crime to a felony, police said.

MONDAY, DEC. 19

Woman Spotted Taking Items from Walmart

Police said at about 3:40 p.m., Walmart store security saw a woman stuff several items inside her jacket and walk out of the store. According to reports Sharon J. Hoskins, 49, of Chicago, took five items valued at $44.86. Police said she paid for some items and then walked out with the others inside her jacket. Hoskins was charged with retail theft.

Random Plates Check Leads Cops to Marijuana

After a random license plate check, at 99th Street and Western Avenue, police found marijuana in a man’s car. Eduardo Blancas, 31, of Chicago was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Reports said he had 2.4 grams of marijuana. At about 4:43 p.m., officers observed a tan 1999 Chevrolet driving southbound on Western at 99th street and found that the registration was suspended, police said. Upon stopping the car, police said they saw the driver reaching in the back seat and smelled strong odor of marijuana. Blancas admitted to trying to hide a bag of marijuana, police said.

Blancas was charged with suspended registration, driving with no insurance and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to reports.

SUNDAY, DEC. 18

Man Damages Cop Car

Evergreen Park Police charged Daniel M. Lamb, 20, of Evergreen Park with felony criminal damage to public property. According to reports, Lamb damaged a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria cop car to the tune of $500.

At about 1:25 a.m., an off-duty LaGrange police officer observed Lamb climb on the top of the car parked at the intersection of 99th Place and Francisco Avenue and began to jump up and down, kick the emergency lights off the top and pulled the spotlight off the driver’s side front door. Police said Lamb ran south on Francisco Avenue, but returned to the car and knocked in the passenger side window. Police arrived and asked him to stop, then arrested him and took him into custody, according to reports.
