WEDNESDAY, JAN. 11
Woman Lifts Electronics from Walmart
nabbed a woman on retail theft charges at Walmart, 2500 W. 95th St. According to reports, Samantha E. Lewis, 35, of Chicago removed two items from the electronics display. Police said Lewis took the items to a different department where she removed them from their boxes and stuffed into her coat pocket. According to reports, Lewis exited the store, but was stopped by security, who recovered the items.

Security Catches Woman Taking Clothes from Walmart
Walmart store security caught a woman stuffing several items in her purse, police said. According to reports, police charged Shirley R. Doubie, 18, of Chicago, with retail theft at about 6:09 p.m. Police said the merchandise was valued at $81.25.

Police Charge Man with Felony Retail Theft
Anthony F. Haywood, 36, of Chicago was arrested and charged with felony retail theft. Police said Walmart security observed Haywood take items from a section of the store, go to a different section and stuff them in his sweater. At about 5:30 p.m., police caught Haywood as he left, according to reports. Haywood took $238.59 worth of merchandise, police said. Because of his prior theft convictions, the crime was updated to a felony, according to police reports.

Cops Spot Pot on a Traffic Stop
According to reports, at about 5:50 p.m., tactical officers spotted a black Chevrolet traveling southbound in the 9800 block of Western Ave. and saw that the car failed to signal while making a lane change. Police said they stopped Thomas N. Bailey, 48, of Chicago in the 10000 block of Western Ave. After asking if anything illegal was in the car, Bailey told police that his girlfriend smokes pot and grabbed a knotted bag from the center console and passenger seat, according to reports.
Police charged Bailey with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to signal. According to reports, Bailey had 5.8 grams of marijuana in his possession.
FRIDAY, JAN. 6
Carson’s Retail Theft
Police arrested Jasmine N. Randle, 20, of Chicago at about 5:33 p.m. and charged her with retail theft. According to reports, she took six items valued at $86.98 from Carson Pirie Scott, 9700 S. Western Ave. Police said store security saw Randle in the jewelry department removing several items from the display rack and putting them in her purse. Police said store security stopped Randle and recovered the jewelry.
