Walmart Retail Theft

Hope Bell, 45, of Chicago was charged with retail theft. said Bell took $87.37 worth of clothing, cosmetics and health items from Walmart at around 11:59 a.m. 

Passenger Charged with Possession

As Evergreen Park Police stopped a man on a traffic offense, they found open alcohol, according to reports. Police arrested Marcus L. Carter, 40, of Chicago and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he had one metal crack pipe with copper mesh containing residue. According to reports, at about 6:01 p.m., police saw a white Nissan driving 55 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. Police stopped him at 87th Street and Rockwell Avenue and spoke with the driver, who was charged with traffic offenses including suspended license.

While speaking with the driver, police said they observed a 12-ounce open can of beer next to the passenger, Carter. The driver’s license was suspended and Carter admitted to having a crack pipe in his left pocket, reports said. Police also arrested the driver, reports said, and charged him with speeding, no insurance and suspended driver’s license.

Man Charged after Biting and Fighting Security Guards

Police said at around 4:50 p.m. Terrence K. Wade, 38, of Chicago walked into Carson Pirie Scott, 9700 S. Western Ave., took a Coach purse valued at $193.99 from behind an enclosed counter area and exited without paying. The store security officers attempted to stop him, but he hit the guards, according to reports. Police said he was arrested with the assistance of several Evergreen Park Police officers. Wade was ultimately charged with three counts of aggravated battery, one count battery and one count retail theft with felony conviction, police said.

According to reports, Wade bit the store security guard on the hand and another guard on the shoulder. He hit another guard and bit him on the forearm, reports said.

Because of a previous conviction of retail theft, Wade’s charge was upgraded to a felony, police said.

Cops Find Drugs, Paraphernalia on Panhandler

After police saw a man panhandling for money at the BP gas station parking lot at 2620 W. 95th St., they later found drugs on him. Police arrested Lonnie V. Crawford, 34, of Chicago at around 10:01 p.m. and charged him with felony possession of a control substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to reports after police searched him, he had no identification, however police found a Ziploc bag with marijuana residue and a plastic baggie with .1 gram of cocaine in it.
