Police Blotter: Hospital Battery and Stolen Bike
Evergreen Park police reports, June 22
Hospital Battery
Chandran D. Murray, 29, of Chicago, was charged with battery for pushing a security guard at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers, police said. Security told police that Murray had gotten into an argument with her mother inside the hospital while they waited for a family member to receive treatment. When security got in between the two, Murray shoved the guard and took two unsuccessful swings, police said.
House Lifts Garage In Search of Bike
John R. House, 65, of Chicago, was charged with felony burglary for attempting to steal a bicycle from a garage in the 8800 block of Francisco Avenue, police said. The homeowner told police he looked out his window around 9 a.m. and saw House opening his garage. When confronted, House ran off, yelling “sorry,” the homeowner said. Police arrested House on foot near 87th Street and Mozart Street, police said.
Garbage Moment
Ashanti N. El’amin, 33, of Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct for screaming at a Currency Exchange clerk, police said. The clerk told police that El’amin had come into Currency Exchange to throw away a big bag of trash in a small garbage can. An argument ensued, in which El’amin accused the clerk of being “racist,” police said.
