You Can't Lie to the Cops

Wednesday, March 16: Police said Brandy L. Bosi-Adamiec, 36, of Evergreen Park, told police she was a victim of an armed robbery and aggravated battery. She called the police around 11:25 p.m., claiming that after an argument with her fiancee over the phone, she took the garbage out at her home near 100th Street and Kedzie Avenue, and decided to take a walk, police said. stated Bosi-Adamiec claimed she walked southbound on Sawyer Avenue when a male came behind her, pressed a knife to the left side of her neck and said "Give me your money." The woman told police she was also hit and fell to the ground, police reports stated. According to police, Bosi-Adamiec was interviewed by police at the station on the morning of March 17, and she admitted making up the story. Police said they discovered she was lying because she made statements to the detective that conflicted with her report. She was charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.

Drug Paraphernalia Possession

March 16: Around 5:54 p.m., police said Joseph M. Knibbs, 18, of Mt. Greenwood, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He's accused of having a multi-colored glass pipe, used for smoking marijuana. According to reports, the officer stopped Knibbs at 95th Street and Pulaski Avenue for a broken windshield. Police said they talked with the driver of the car, smelled a strong marijuana odor and asked if there was any marijuana in the car. According to police reports, Knibbs, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, told the officer  he had a smoking pipe and gave it to him. The back seat passenger, who was a juvenile, admitted to having a 4.5-gram bag of marijuana and gave it to the officer, police said. According to reports, the driver of the car was not charged with possession, only given a warning for the broken windshield. Police said the juvenile sitting in the back seat of the car was charged as a juvenile.

Drug Paraphernalia Possession, Traffic Charges Filed

March 16: Three Evergreen Park men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a routine traffic stop. Police said they approached a Buick with the three men in it because it was improperly parked westbound on the eastbound side of 89th Street and Utica Avenue. According to reports, Matthew M. Green, 18, the driver of the car, had one package containing small plastic Ziplock bags used for bagging marijuana, and three empty Ziplock bags that had marijuana residue in it. In addition to possession, Green was charged with improper parking and no insurance, police said. Clay E. Roberts, 19, and Jermaine C. Stanton, 19, were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. According to reports, the others were charged because as the police officers spoke to the three men, they observed loose tobacco on Green's t-shirt. Police said they also saw an empty clear bag on the floor between the front driver and passenger seat, and burnt used marijuana butts in the ash tray. Police said while checking the car, they recovered empty  bags from the floor and two others from under the passenger seat, all containing small particles of marijuana.
