Pair from Chicago Busted During Joy Ride: Blotter

Police say two guys were cruising around Evergreen Park in someone else's ride.

Two Chicago men on a joy ride were stopped by Evergreen Police last month.

Jorian M. Rey, 41, of the 8600 block of South Loomis Boulevard, Chicago, was charged with felony obstructing identification, misdemeanor criminal trespass to a vehicle and driving without insurance, according to a report.

Rey is accused of giving police a fake name while driving a stolen car on June 25, police said.

Evergreen Park police said Rey drove a 2004 Taurus that belonged to someone else and was stopped at about 6:12 p.m. near the intersection of 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue. Officers were able to figure out Rey's real identity and arrest him.
A passenger in the car also was arrested.

Philip C. Ghent, 41, of 6200 block of South Artesian Avenue, Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to a stolen vehicle.

Police report information is provided by the Evergreen Park Police Department and other law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
